A newborn session in Lewisburg, pa

As much as I absolutely LOVE attending births and documenting the incredible moment that a babe comes earth side - I also sincerely adore newborn sessions. Whether they are in the hospital before you go home, a “homecoming” session when you arrive home with babe for the first time, or a session sometime in those first few weeks at home as you settle into your new routine - I love being able to witness those raw postpartum moments as the new family dynamic flexes and adjusts with the newest little addition.

There’s just something about a newborn session in your own home that lends itself to a level of comfort, intimacy and real-ness that you don’t always get in a studio setting. You don’t have to worry about having extra diapers and changes of clothes with you, or carting the bottles, burp cloths and pump in the car while you’re feeling maybe not the greatest “down there” post birth. You can spend the entire session in your bed if you’d like, or on the couch. You can snuggle with that new babe, or show off your newly created post partum body in a raw, intimate post partum session with and without your babe. I’m here for all of it.

Sometimes it’s about the action - the new big brother bouncing on the bed, or kissing that little baby head - sometimes it’s about the connection: parents silently acknowledging the overwhelming love and the exhaustion of life with a newborn - and sometimes it’s just about holding space and watching the new family unfold before your very eyes.
