Deciding to bring a life into this world is life changing. World shaking. You will never go back to being the same person you were before those little lines appeared on the pregnancy test - but in the grand scheme of things, your pregnancy won’t last forever (even if it feels like it will sometimes!) and after that sweet little babe is here, the months you carried another human inside of you will seem like a distant memory. The amazing changes that our bodies go through to bring forth another life are mind boggling, challenging, hard, and beautiful. The birth of that babe is nothing short of transformative. Once you take that little babe home, and are stuck with it and responsible for raising it into a (bigger) tiny human, things get crazy. You take the time to blink and they are walking, talking, (talking back at you usually!) and taking off in all directions. Breathe it in. Even when you feel like screaming - just breathe. Then breathe some more (seriously, the breathing helps, especially when you have toddlers), and hire a photographer (me!) to document the beauty and the mess - to continue weaving that tapestry of your life with the magic in the little moments, and the big ones - the raw truth of your life and family, the messiness, the giggles, and yes, even the tears - your love radiates and grows inside those little people and inside of you and deserves to be documented for generations to come.

I love genuine human connection - the un-posed, unscripted moments of truth between people - and there’s nothing that comes as close to truth for me as birth, loss, and this wild ride parents find
themselves on. I’m not your “sit up straight, put your hand JUST here” “pose in front of this backdrop,” “let me swaddle your baby like Anne Geddes,” kind of parenthood photographer. Nothing against photographers like that - it’s just not my thing. I’m all about the real, honest, raw moments in life. I want to spend an hour or two (or a day!) with you and your family, documenting your life, your interactions, your smiles and side-eyes as your live LIFE. What’s a Parenthood Session Like with Megan?
When you invite me to join you for a parenthood session, the experience is laid back, full of laughter, fun and genuine connection. I don’t force poses or interactions, but will guide you with the occasional suggestion. You can let go of the pressure to look “picture perfect,” because my focus is documenting the authentic interactions and moments during my time with you.
The session unfolds naturally, creating opportunities for candid shots and spontaneous interactions. I’m always on board for more intimate and raw moments as well, especially for those maternity and postpartum folks. The end result is a collection of photographs that radiate joy, love, and the true essence of life, human connection and emotion.

When you reach out about a session we’ll chat about the details, and I’ll send an invoice, contract, and photo release. To secure your booking I require a 50% non-refundable initial payment to reserve your space on my calendar. The remainder is due prior to the session date. Generally you’ll have access to your photo gallery within a few weeks after your session!

When I discuss your session with you and what vision you have for your photos, I’ll offer suggestions on locations. If you have a place in mind, let me know! We’ll try to make it work!

The earlier you decide to book your session the better! I take a limited number of birth clients per month, and work my other sessions around my on-call time, so things can book up quickly.

Absolutely! I offer special pricing for bundled sessions, and absolutely love being able to document your story from your pregnancy, through the birth and newborn stage and as your family grows and changes over the years.

While I don’t specialize in other sessions, I do occasionally take on work outside the “Parenthood” scope such as boudoir, or vow renewals, and I also offer bereavement and end-of-life sessions for those young and old (and the furry family members as well). If you have an idea, don’t hesitate to reach out!

Honoring your experience…
The postpartum period can be amazing, life altering, and so, so challenging. I don’t remember much from the first few months after I brought my babe home - it was a whirlwind of bleeding nipples, endless pumping and bottle feeding due to a tongue tie and poor latch, not to mention the colic from food sensitivities. As a first time mom I felt like I had been kicked in the pants (literally, probably with a steel toed boot….or my 9 pound babe’s gigantic head….) Looking back at the photos I have, I’m grateful for those small glimpses at what life looked like with my newborn. The shirts with milk stains and circles from leaky breasts; the bottles and pump parts all over the kitchen counter, the dust that laid a bit longer and thicker because SOMEONE decided they now ran our lives - overlaid with this beautifully woven disaster filled with love, laughs, tears, and dreams, all centered on that brand new babe. I’d love to document these moments for you - whether you’re nursing, bottle feeding, tube feeding, using an SNS system, or any other method to feed that babe, let’s honor you, your experience, and your changing body.
